Dubai, UAE — Lithuania’s renewable energy innovation was in the spotlight at WETEX Dubai 2025, 30 September – 2 October, one of the world’s leading exhibitions for water, energy, technology, and environment.
Skirmantė Baležentienė, representing the Applied Research Institute for Prospective Technologies (Protech), took part in the EU–UAE renewable energy dialogue held during the exhibition, presenting Lithuania’s journey from research-driven beginnings to global recognition in solar and clean energy innovation.
Her presentation demonstrated how applied research has played a vital role in shaping Lithuania’s photovoltaic (PV) and renewable energy sectors — transforming scientific results into market-ready technologies through collaboration between research institutions and industry.
The event gathered distinguished guests including H.E. Maria AlQassim, Assistant Undersecretary at the UAE Ministry of Economy & Tourism, H.E. Lucie Berger, EU Ambassador to the UAE, and Ms. Fatima AlHajri, Director of Investments and Talent Attraction at the UAE Ministry of Foreign Trade.

Her participation at WETEX Dubai 2025 strengthened the visibility of Lithuanian research and innovation capabilities in the global renewable energy community, showcasing Protech’s contribution to advancing sustainable energy technologies and international collaboration.
