ProTech, together with international partners, participated in the 2nd General Assembly of the EMPOWER project, held in Chambéry. The meeting took place at the CEA INES Research and Innovation Center—one of Europe’s leading competence hubs for solar energy and photovoltaic technologies.
The event brought together research institutions, technology developers, and industrial partners from across Europe. The main objective of the meeting was to review the project’s progress, exchange practical experience, and further align a shared vision for a sustainable, competitive, and resilient future of photovoltaic manufacturing in Europe.
Focus on the Entire Photovoltaic Value Chain
During the General Assembly, in-depth discussions and interactive workshops addressed key challenges across the photovoltaic (PV) value chain. Project partners explored ways to:
- increase the efficiency and productivity of PV manufacturing processes,
- reduce production costs while maintaining high quality standards,
- implement advanced Industry 4.0 solutions to automate, digitalize, and optimize manufacturing operations and decision-making processes.
Significant attention was also given to scaling up photovoltaic manufacturing capacity in Europe. Strengthening local production capabilities is essential for reducing dependence on third-country supply chains and improving the long-term resilience and competitiveness of the European solar industry.
EMPOWER – A Joint Step Toward a Stronger Europe
The EMPOWER Horizon Europe Project aims to establish a solid foundation for next-generation photovoltaic manufacturing in Europe. The project integrates scientific research, industrial expertise, and real-world manufacturing scenarios to ensure that innovative solutions reach the market quickly and can be applied in practice.
ProTech actively contributes to these objectives by sharing its expertise in technological solutions, manufacturing processes, and their practical implementation. Participation in high-level international meetings such as this not only enables the company to stay at the forefront of emerging trends, but also allows it to actively shape future solutions together with strong European partners.
Collaboration That Creates Long-Term Value
The General Assembly in Chambéry served as an important platform for open dialogue, knowledge exchange, and the exploration of new collaboration opportunities. Such meetings strengthen partnerships, help align expectations, and ensure that project outcomes are closely aligned with real industrial needs and long-term impact.
🤝 We sincerely thank the organizers and all project partners for the valuable discussions, constructive collaboration, and shared vision for a stronger, more competitive, and more sustainable future of solar energy in Europe.
