ProTech has joined the EUREKA II project — an international initiative aimed at strengthening cooperation between science and business while promoting market-oriented research and experimental development (R&D) solutions. The project is implemented by the Research Council of Lithuania (LMT) in cooperation with the Central Project Management Agency (CPVA), with activities carried out through the transnational EUREKA network that connects innovation-driven organisations across Europe.
Project Scope and Objectives
The total value of the project is EUR 951,068.68, and its implementation period runs from 20 January 2026 to 31 January 2029. The main objective of the project is to increase the internationalisation of Lithuanian science, encourage more active participation of research and higher education institutions, as well as small and medium-sized enterprises, in international R&D programmes, and strengthen long-term partnerships with foreign organisations.
The initiative is expected to help better utilise Lithuania’s innovation potential, create favourable conditions for the development of high value-added products, and enhance the country’s competitiveness in international markets.
From Innovation Idea to Market-Ready Solution
Through its participation in the project, ProTech, together with international partners, will implement projects covering the entire innovation development cycle — from technology validation and prototype testing to the evaluation of final products under real market conditions. This cooperation will enable more effective knowledge sharing, reduce technological development risks, and accelerate the transition of innovations into practical applications.
The project will also promote stronger international networking, increase the number of high-quality EUREKA network R&D projects, and ensure the continuity of Lithuanian partners’ participation in international consortia.
International Cooperation and Awareness Building
One of the key aspects of the project is increasing awareness of the EUREKA programme in Lithuania. Planned activities include expert training, informational events, and more active dissemination of information about Lithuania’s scientific and technological potential at the international level. These efforts will help attract new partners, promote knowledge exchange, and strengthen the country’s position within international innovation ecosystems.
Partnership for a Stronger Innovation Ecosystem
The project is implemented together with the following partners: UAB “Taikomasis dirbtinis intelektas”, UAB “Modernios E-Technologijos”, Vilnius University, and UAB “EDIS Lab”. Through joint efforts, the project aims to strengthen Lithuania’s innovation ecosystem and create more favourable conditions for researchers and companies to actively participate in international R&D initiatives.
The 2022–2030 Development Programme is administered by the Ministry of Education, Science and Sport of the Republic of Lithuania. The project is co-funded by the European Union.
